2003 Jack-o-lanternsErik & Rossi’s “Special” (you can’t see the drool in this photo), my “Classic” and Russ’ “Intarweb g33k.” Russ got a little happy with the drill. I think it looks cool, and would be a good brains/curly hair effect in the future.

Goat skin lamp from MoroccoJust got these candle lamps on eBay. They’re from Morocco and made of goat skin dyed with henna. They’re fabulous, don’t tip over when startled, and smell a little goaty. Beeeah.

OK, finally a redecorating picture. It’s a little blurry since I didn’t want to use flash, but you can get the idea. It still needs some shelving and artwork, but it’s really cool and comfortable. Check out the candlestick! There’s two! Brasso is my new friend. My grandparents brought back the necklace (under the mirror) from Africa in 1974.

bobbie villa | 8:35 am | 1 October 2002

I took out the grody carpet in the kitchen, and the good news is there’s hardwood under them thar floors! The bad news is that there’s going to be a bit of work excavating them — there’s a subfloor and then some old lino — and then they’ll need to be refinished, but oooh. Very cool.

ornamental type cuts | 10:28 am | 26 September 2002

Briar Press offers some terrific eps scans of old cuts and clips. I’ll post a sample when I can blog with better ease, but trust me, they’re awesome and they’re free. Oooh. There are some neat deco things that could be blown up and turned into paint stencils for the dining room…. Man! I have been watching way too much TLC!

Ooooh I want these rockabilly and Las Vegas-y iron-on embroidery transfers! I’ve been looking for a crafty project.
