In a foolish attempt to make a quick fix to my CSS, I edited the live file in TextMate via Transmit. I’d forgotten that that feature had been flaking out on me recently, and, well… mah file done got et. There’s no backup (on this machine), and GoogleCache and the Wayback Machine have failed me, so things are going to look a little DEFAULT today.

Hey, I’ve been getting a comment spam flood, and so just installed a SpamKarma plugin – it looks like it was working, but now I’m getting word that legit comments are getting fatal errors. I just unplugged SK – so can you comment? And if so, especially if you’re using WordPress, whatcha use to keep the pill-pushing-casinos at bay?

Woo! Upgraded to WordPress 1.5, which should help deal with comment spam and add some features. What, gentle reader, does this mean to you? It’s also fixed the commenting system, so comments work well and you can chat away. Are you out there? Post a comment!

My blacklist plug-in has been acting up, keeping everyone from commenting, and I don’t have time to futz with it, so I deactivated the plug-in — and THIRTY-THREE MINUTES LATER, seven spams already. Oy.

I’ve just noticed that the sidebar is misbehaving in IE. I wouldn’t ordinarily give a fig but it’s goofy in Safari, too. No time to change it today but just letting you know I’m aware.

Woo! That’s better! Still some tweaking to do with the margins, and adding photos to the galleries. The transition was fairly easy and since everything is controlled by the style sheets now, it’ll be very simple to redesign in the future (in theory).

Needing a fresh design and sick sick sick of comment spam, I’m switching to WordPress: it uses PHP instead of Perl, making it easier to use, faster and more configurable. Bonus: The WordPress crew is all about web standards. Look for the Swissalicious new Dynagirl soon!

cleaning up

I’ve been cleaning up some of the style sheets, and I added blogrolling, because I am lazy and bored with managing the linkylove by hand. Let blogrolling do it for you. This is especially nice since I keep my links in two formats: the one you see streaming down the right sider of the page, and also in the little dynalinks tool. Drag it to your IE toolbar, click on it, and it’ll open a handy side window of linky goodness. If you’re on Mac like me, strip out that address or drag this link to your tool bar, and set it to open in pageholder. Whee.
Also there is new music in the DJ booth this week.
