superhooray!! | 7:21 am | 6 November 2008

I got my domain back, and we got our country back! Now comes the hard work — it’s time to redesign this site already.

crapspackle! Naked! | 12:00 pm | 23 October 2007

In a foolish attempt to make a quick fix to my CSS, I edited the live file in TextMate via Transmit. I’d forgotten that that feature had been flaking out on me recently, and, well… mah file done got et. There’s no backup (on this machine), and GoogleCache and the Wayback Machine have failed me, so things are going to look a little DEFAULT today.

Eek! Masher!

update! I found this old thing in the closet…

Comments working yet? Please to gimme a shout! | 10:41 am | 21 December 2005

OK, I think this is fixed! Hollaback, and let me know you’re out there! pretty please?

Lemme hear you say ‘YEAH!’ | 11:04 am | 15 December 2005

Hey, I’ve been getting a comment spam flood, and so just installed a SpamKarma plugin – it looks like it was working, but now I’m getting word that legit comments are getting fatal errors. I just unplugged SK – so can you comment? And if so, especially if you’re using WordPress, whatcha use to keep the pill-pushing-casinos at bay?

WordPress 1.5 / Ping? | 7:22 pm | 20 February 2005

Woo! Upgraded to WordPress 1.5, which should help deal with comment spam and add some features. What, gentle reader, does this mean to you? It’s also fixed the commenting system, so comments work well and you can chat away. Are you out there? Post a comment!

comment ca va | 9:17 pm | 24 January 2005

My blacklist plug-in has been acting up, keeping everyone from commenting, and I don’t have time to futz with it, so I deactivated the plug-in — and THIRTY-THREE MINUTES LATER, seven spams already. Oy.

comments ok now? | 9:32 am | 27 August 2004

After a nasty influx of comment spam, I tweaked up the moderation-triggers–apparently, too much. Someone wanna test the comments for me? They should now appear immediately. Hrm.

Election-a-delic | 5:01 pm | 29 July 2004

Aiiight, John Kerry accepts the nomination tonight and Dynagirl.com is ready and FABULOUS.

I see… Space. | 10:10 am | 1 July 2004

Margins will be misbehaving while some styles are tweaked. Patience!

The Hostess with the Mostest | 4:37 pm | 30 June 2004

I finally put this page up.

pardon our dust | 1:00 pm | 4 June 2004

Fixing some shit that’s broken, so it may look a bit wierd for the next hour. I’m just sayin’.

Fie! | 9:55 am | 19 May 2004

I’ve just noticed that the sidebar is misbehaving in IE. I wouldn’t ordinarily give a fig but it’s goofy in Safari, too. No time to change it today but just letting you know <GeorgeCostanza>I’m aware</GC>.

Dynagirl 5.0 | 5:24 pm | 5 May 2004

Woo! That’s better! Still some tweaking to do with the margins, and adding photos to the galleries. The transition was fairly easy and since everything is controlled by the style sheets now, it’ll be very simple to redesign in the future (in theory).

July 2001 – May 2004 | 12:26 pm | 3 May 2004

Dynagirl 2001 redesign
Still green and black. All CSS layout! Validated code but some naughty double <br /> to work around MovableType’s handling of line breaks.

Any minute now… | 9:48 am |

Needing a fresh design and sick sick sick of comment spam, I’m switching to WordPress: it uses PHP instead of Perl, making it easier to use, faster and more configurable. Bonus: The WordPress crew is all about web standards. Look for the Swissalicious new Dynagirl soon!

back issues | 4:05 pm | 29 September 2003

In further preparation for the Mighty Redesign of Aught-3, I’ve started the annoying task of converting ten months of hand-coded entries to Moveable Type. Welcome, February 2001.

category archive changes | 12:38 pm |

Some under-the-hood tweaks are going on as I slowly start getting this site ready for a redesign. I’ve just added the category archive link under each entry, as I was annoyed with trying to find something that I’d written about a while back and had to dig for it.

I’m retro | 1:23 pm | 16 December 2002

The DynaCam is now in beta. Shoutout to Sal for the code and the testing! Let me know how it works.

cleaning up | 9:01 am | 7 November 2002

I’ve been cleaning up some of the style sheets, and I added blogrolling, because I am lazy and bored with managing the linkylove by hand. Let blogrolling do it for you. This is especially nice since I keep my links in two formats: the one you see streaming down the right sider of the page, and also in the little dynalinks tool. Drag it to your IE toolbar, click on it, and it’ll open a handy side window of linky goodness. If you’re on Mac like me, strip out that address or drag this link to your tool bar, and set it to open in pageholder. Whee.
Also there is new music in the DJ booth this week.

behind the curtain | 9:59 am | 6 November 2002

I’m tweaking some stuff so things may look stupid on and off. Pay no attention, thanks.

validation headache | 8:30 am | 28 October 2002

Getting the comments working has screwed up my validation and I’m not sure how to fix it. Basically, it’s choking on the new MoveableType JavaScript:
window.open(c,
'comments'
'width=480,height=480,scrollbars=yes,status=yes');}

cannot be interpreted as utf-8. Anyone?

tell me about it | 10:36 am | 22 October 2002

Comments should be working now (mostly). Yay.

update | 4:28 pm | 16 October 2002

As you can see, the index template is finally rocking in the free world. Comments are still behind the iron curtain but are leaking out: if you click on the comments link, then click on the link offered in the error message you get, you’ll get to the comments. Oooh, how ugly. Some other (read:paying) pojects are precluding a lot of work getting done gere but most problems should be fixed by this week, and maybe the archives too. Someone now wanna tell me how to hack the html in Gallery? w3rd.

closer | 11:05 pm | 10 October 2002

Not everything’s (comments for instance) working yet. But it will be. Oh yes. It will be.

T.C.B. | 8:05 am |

Moveable Type is 1 year-old today, and they’ve released 2.5. I’m going to be fixing Dynagirl today, and if I’m lucky it will go smoothly. If I’m extra-lucky, Gallery will install smoothly as well. My fingers are crossed!

still fuxored | 3:12 pm | 17 September 2002

Moveable Type still isn’t working correctly, even after a reinstall of the software. Maybe by later this week. Also can someone tell me how to make a boot disk for my OS9 Mac? Thanks, that’d be great. (I bought this old -1996?- machine from my brother and the original disks are lost like the sands of time…)

banging my head and hand posting | 3:27 pm | 11 September 2002

Some script kiddy lus3r mucked with the server last week and although
everything was restored from backup within an hour, I still can’t get in to my Moveable Type. (Bangs head, repeatedly.)
It should (crosses fingers) be back soon.
If it’s not, I’ll post by hand here anyway.

comments test | 4:59 pm | 21 May 2002

I’ve twiddled with the comments Javascript. If you were having difficulty with the comments, please try it again and let me know…
