Mama needs this bag | 9:52 am | 21 July 2004

felted bag by Nikky EpsteinThis bag from the Fall ’04 Interweave Knits is too neat and must be made. I think I’ll use a different background color (black?) and maybe even get jiggy with some sequins or beads when I’m done. I’m going to pick up the magazine, but not the yarn today. I have to make lots more progress on Stornoway first.

There’s a bunch of other cool-looking projects as well. This is why I don’t stash yarn–I’ve got a longish list of things I’d like to do, and sometimes things jump in the line. No need to have all that yarn staring at you–or all your cash tied up in it, for that matter.

Do we follow the same blogs and forums?? I have finished 2 x Rogue this spring and summer, the zippered “Claudia” version. One in Magpie Tweed:) Now I am finishing my Rainbow Jacket from Norsk Strikkedesign and… started Stornoway in yarn from Frangipani. Stornoway color is…dark navy. I made a chart of my own (size L) and it is much faster to knit a row now.

!! I think we must! Certainly we share the same great taste. Those Norsk Strikks look cool! Interesting shapes, which could be adapted into other things as well.

Where did you find Magpie Tweed? I can’t find any red tweeds I like so far, they’re either too orange or too watermelony.

How is your Stornoway going? I’m making the large, too. I’m doing about an hour per row; I hope dad gets his sweater by Christmas. Yipes.

What lists do you follow? I’m on Yahoo’s Aran and Norse lists, as well as KBTH.

    Thanks for posting!
