maybe we should stick to brewing | 10:03 am | 28 May 2004

Dear Adam at Star Liquor: if you ever see me pick up a bottle of Wisconsin wine because it’s cheap and I’m distracted, chatting with you about finding a nice tavern al fresco, please smash it from my hands. Thank you.

Last night I grabbed a bottle of Botham Uplands Reserve; the trouble started at the pour: thin color and reedy body. We tentatively sipped it to find it tasted like watered grape juice that had been left to ferment… pfau!! The one thing I can say in its favor, was that it contained alcohol. Unfortunately, it also gave me a nagging headache this morning, after just half a bottle.
